Seller's Guide

  • Live within the US (expanding to more locations soon).
  • Be 18 or older.
  • Active bank account for payouts (all bank account information is securely collected via Stripe).
  • Credit card for payments.
  • We embrace all items that are nerdy, artsy, or crafty. Some examples include costumes, props, art prints, comics, crafting supplies, wigs, handmade crafts, and collectibles.
  • Items can be new, refurbished, or used.
  • Our prohibited items list can be found here.
  • More photos is better.
  • Be thoughtful with your photo layouts. Include different angles, detail shots, full product shots, the product in use, and product variations.
  • Make sure the photos are well lit with a neutral or styled background.
  • Use the product description to highlight unique aspects of your product, materials used, and size measurements.
  • Add a promo or instructional YouTube video link.
  • Don’t overuse variants for your products. Different sizes or colors make sense, but if there are greater differences create a new product to better showcase your inventory.
  • Include shipping and handling costs into the price and offer free shipping.
  • TumeRoom will collect and remit taxes in all U.S. states.
  • You will receive a notification if you exceed the threshold required to fill out a 1099 tax form.
  • Please seek expert advice on how to handle your taxes and stay compliant with all local, state, and federal laws.
  • All payments are collected via the credit card on file.
  • All payouts are handled securely through Stripe Connect.
  • Payouts to sellers are distributed daily on a two day rolling basis. The first payout will have a seven day delay.
  • If you have a Free subscription you can upgrade at any time.
  • If you have a monthly Roomie Rate subscription and want to upgrade to a yearly Roomie Rate subscription you can upgrade at any time and we will prorate the cost.
  • If you are on a yearly or monthly Roomie Rate subscription and want to downgrade you can opt out of auto-renewing your current subscription tier and make the switch once your current subscription has expired.
  • Any time.
  • Simply opt out of auto-renewing your subscription and your subscription will end after your already paid for time has completed.
  • If you have a Free subscription TumeRoom collects a 5% commission fee on all sales.
  • If you have a Roomie Rate subscription there is no commission fee.
  • There are no listing fees.
  • There are no hidden fees.
  • Stripe charges a standard payment processing fee of 2.9% + 30 cents per transaction.
Now you will see Manage Shop in the navigation menu. Hover over it and navigate to the pages listed below to make the specified updates:

Shop Details

  • **Do not set your shop to open yet!**
  • Add additional shop information and policies.

Media

  • Add a banner image and shop logo.

Products

  • Finish setting up the product you entered in the shop submission. There will be new required fields.
  • Add the rest of your products.
  • Set all products that you want to be currently available in your shop to active.

Shop Inventory

  • Set all variations of your active products to visible.

Shipping Profiles

  • Create shipping profiles and add products to them accordingly.

  • Set your shop to open!

Shopper's Guide

  • Currently items can only be sold and purchased within the US (expanding to more locations soon).
  • Users must be 18 or older to create a TumeRoom account.
  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • MasterCard, Visa, Discover, AmEx, and Diners Club.
  • Each shop will have their own policies so be sure to check their pages and contact them if you have any questions.
  • If you have an account you will be able to see your order status in your Order History and will receive order status update emails.
  • If you shopped as a guest you will receive order status update emails.
  • Contacting the shop directly will always be the best course of action.
  • You can also use the Message Us form to notify us of any issues if it can’t be resolved with the shop owner.
  • If you receive any suspicious emails supposedly sent by TumeRoom reach out to us via our contact form and do not interact with the emails. We will never ask for or have you verify any personal or banking information.
  • If in contact with any shop owners do not give out your payment or personal information outside of the application all of this should be a part of the order process and if there are any issues please let us know by filling out the Message Us form.
  • Before purchasing items from a shop, check their reviews and policies, and contact the seller if you have questions or concerns.
  • If you provide supplies to a shop for your purchase, you do so at your own risk.
  • Research a product and shop first, use caution with any shops that have no history of sales or reviews that have only small product listings with high costs.
