This is the base pattern of the Rathian style cuirass. The cuirass template makes for an excellent foundation for many different styles of chest armor. Made out of 4mm-6mm foam, it can be used for LARP, cosplay, or any other costumed occasion. The pattern is fairly self-explanatory, just tape all the pages together and cut out the shapes. Each row contains 4 pages, and there are four rows, so the 16 sheets will make a 4x4. The main cuirass, neck guard, and bottom pieces should be cut out using 4-6mm foam. The pieces labeled "layer" should be cut out using 2mm foam. The layers are aesthetic so if your particular project does not call for that detail, just skip those pieces. Some cuts call for a 60° cut, but it does not have to be precise! Sizing - The cuirass is generally sized for a person about 6' tall, 200 lbs. I recommend that it be made full scale and then trimmed where necessary to get desired length. To trim, mark one side and cut off the piece desired, then take that piece and flip it around and hold it up to the other side and mark off where to cut. This way, you will get a fairly symmetrical trim. For a person 5'6" and below, it might make sense to just scale the print down to about 90%. For a larger person, adding length and breadth should not be too complicated, just follow the steps for trimming in reverse.
