This is a template for a slinger from the Monster Hunter World game. It's designed to be used with craft foam but can also reasonably be used with card board, styrene, worbla, foam board, or even xps foam. Results will vary with the material and accuracy with which the parts are cut. The example in the photos was made in about 4 hours using only 6mm and 10mm foam. 6mm is roughly 1/4inch and 10mm is roughly 3/8inch. I used hot glue to join everything and the three moving arms rotate around 1/4inch wooden dowels. The gold slinger in the photos is made with resin cast parts. The resin cast kits will be available soon for those interested in that.
Regarding materials, it's totally fine to use different materials with different thicknesses, but you will have to make the adjustments to the sizes of the parts. Except where marked with an asterisk*, all of the parts are cut from 6mm foam. Some parts, like the moving arms that the horns attach to, require gluing together multiple cut-outs to achieve the thicknesses suggested. Each of the three moving arms is made of 3 layers of part 'k'. Part 'c' also calls for 3 layers for each. Again, results will vary depending on material. Even material sold as "10mm" might vary in thickness.
